About Me

Over Andrew’s 30 plus years as a PGA professional, he has had the great fortune of learning different aspects of the golfing industry from some of the most respected people of their fields.

When Andrew was an amateur golfer, he got to meet Dennis Sullivan who not only helped Andrew to develop his golfing skills to end up playing for Waikato, but also passed on his invaluable knowledge of club making and repairing golf clubs.

After guidance from Dennis, Andrew then started the NZPGA golf program. During this time Andrew worked under Stuart Reese, a very well-respected golf coach in his own right. Under Stuart’s guidance Andrew started developing his teaching techniques and philosophy.

After finishing the NZPGA program Andrew left for Sweden to gain more experience in the golfing industry. In Sweden, Andrew had the fortune of meeting Bill Söderberg. Bill had designed golf courses in Sweden and was the part owner and Director of golf at Grödinge Golf Club.

Over the next 16 years at Grödinge Golf Club, Andrew honed his skills not only with individual lessons, but more importantly with group lessons. The group lessons were predominantly with beginner golfers.

Andrew also had the fortune to meet Kjell Finmo who was a master club maker. Under Kjell’s guidance, Andrew was able to build on what Dennis had taught him and develop his custom fitting and club making skills.

Andrew even had the privilege of being involved with building the new 9 holes at Grödinge which Bill had designed.

During Andrew’s time in Sweden, he had the honour of playing on the Scandinavian tour for several years.

Then Andrew moved back to New Zealand where he worked 5 years as Golf Manager at Riverside Golf Club. At Riverside, he developed his skills with corporate days, group bookings and NZ Golf’s computer program Dot Golf.

The coaching side of golf started calling which led Andrew to decide to go back to teaching full-time.
